A professional development series containing presentations by educational researchers who are studying and developing strategies to promote learning in American schools, and teachers and administrators who are successfully engaged in restructuring schools now to improve curriculum, instruction, parent involvement, and student achievement. The first conference program focuses on new research on learning; the next three discuss the cognitive and social environments that can be created in classrooms to support meaningful learning; the last five explore changes that can be made in the social organization of schools to support these classrooms
