The purpose of this study was to develop a theoretical construct for teaching ethical behavior. This qualitative grounded theory approach was based on a sample of 25 Jewish Day School teachers in urban Florida. The curriculum and the perceptions of the faculty were used to develop themes and to guide the design of the ethical model. The study identified how teachers trained their students with the ethical values within the curriculum to appreciate how an ethical code of conduct could be developed from an early age and maintained throughout adulthood. The key findings were developed into a theoretical construct for teaching ethical behavior from which emerged a training model for educational leaders to enhance their understanding of ethical leadership
