Over the last 25 years, crisis management as a formal discipline has become more and more utilized in the business world as a management tool. Although the use of crisis management is widespread, its use is by no means universal in the business community. Many large companies still do not have a formal crisis management program, and most medium and small companies do not have preexisting crisis management plans |
|
The purpose of this study was to determine to what extent crisis management programs were used in local government, specifically local municipalities. The study also sought to determine for those cities that might have a crisis management program in place, how the crisis management program was integrated into the day-to-day operating structure of city government. The study further sought to determine the level of crisis management acknowledgment among local elected and senior appointed officials |
