Various physical and thermal properties and kinetic behavior related crystallization process in chemical and pharmaceutical industries were experimentally measured by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
Desupersaturation curve method was employed to obtain crystal growth parameters such as growth rate and growth order by isothermal temperature program of DSC, and the effect of supersaturation was investigated
By using principle of DSC, it showed that accurate solubility data can be obtained from temperature range. Also, heating rate is the major factor because all compounds have their different dissolution rate
The characterization and analysis of polymorphs is essential in the pharmaceutical industry. Physicochemical properties for enantiotropic systems have been studied using DSC and the measurement of metastable form was performed using optimal heating rate. Thermal properties for each polymorph have been estimated using the van't Hoff equation
Pressure effect on phase transition temperature was studied using high pressure DSC. The trend of slope (dp/dT) in phase diagram was investigated in order to construct phase diagram of solid-solid phase transition. It was measured up to 6 MPa and the behavior of transition temperature was investigated
