520    The relevance of information in various institutions is 
       the main focus of this dissertation's investigation. 
       Chapter 1 introduces the questions that inspired this work
       : how can information emerge and improve decision making 
       in a world of uncertainty. Chapter 2 analyzes how 
       information is aggregated how these market prices can 
       signal this information to decision-makers. Chapter 3 
       analyzes the role of information and its aggregation 
       through a non-market institution: mass elections. Chapter 
       4 analyzes the role of information in securities markets, 
       and the implications when regulation limits the channeling
       of certain information. Chapter 5 makes the concluding 
       remarks
