Abstract: The major purpose of this paper is to provide an alternative example of the relationship between house and people and architectular,as has been proposed by some processual archaeologists. The ethnoarchaeological data of Orchid Island show that the social and cultural aspects of domestic space and architecture play important roles in the relationship between people and house hence the formational processes of the archaeological records.
